Cybersmart Adventures: Famous Mates!

What a fun and creative week in Room 22! We started our “Famous Mates” project.

The learners got organised first. They made a copy of a new Slides document and saved it to their Cybersmart folder.

Next, we used a cool website called remove.bg. The students uploaded a photo of a famous person and a photo of themselves to take away the background. It was like magic!

Once the backgrounds were gone, they added a new background colour to their project. It made their pictures look amazing.

Finally, they took a screenshot of their finished work to put on their blog.

It was a brilliant week of learning new skills!

Room 22’s Amazing “All About Me” Blogs!

Kia ora, Room 22 superstars!

Guess what we did in Room 22 this week? We made super cool “All About Me” stories for our class blogs! It was so much fun to share things about ourselves with everyone.

Whaea Kathryn helped us learn so many cool things. Look what we could do:

  • We made our very own “All About Me” stories and put them on our computers so everyone could see.
  • We made our names look awesome with Word Art. Mine looks so cool!
  • We got to add a photo of ourselves or something we love to our story. You can see my picture there!
  • We changed our stories to make sure they were just right and said everything we wanted.
  • We even changed the background colour of our blog posts! You just tap the mousepad with two fingers – it’s like magic!
  • And we changed the colours of our words and the boxes too, to make them look super bright and fun.

Sometimes the computer was a bit slow to load, but we just waited patiently. Whaea Kathryn said we did a great job not giving up!

Our blogs look really, really good, and it’s so cool to learn new things about my friends. You should come and see it sometime!

Screenshot Superstars!

Today was an absolute blast honing our screenshot skills!

Ruma 22 dove into a fun challenge, capturing screenshots of our favorite subjects, websites, colors, and sports.

We then creatively assembled them into a unique “screenshot creature” on my slide!

Check out the photos below to see our class in action and my creature come to life!

T2W3

What a week we’ve had!

We celebrated Support Staff Week, Pink Shirt Day, and had an unforgettable visit from Ed Kosi and Rocco Berry from the WARRIORS!

Although Whaea Kathryn isn’t the best at remembering to snap photos, our class came together to create something to show our appreciation for the wonderful Weymouth Angel, Whaea Cheryl. We made her a card, a banana cake, a crown, and even performed a song! Check out a sneak peek of our song practice here: Watch the video.

Pink Shirt Day and the Warriors’ visit both happened on Friday — what an incredible way to wrap up the week and head into the weekend! Our class showed up! We were all dressed in pink from head to toe. Whaea Kathryn brought out the ribbons and face paint too, and we looked AMAZING. Check out our Friday photos below.

T2W2 – NZSL week

This week is NZSL (New Zealand Sign Language) week!

We have learned more about people who are deaf and how to communicate with them. Below you’ll find links to videos where we sign the weekdays, Weymouth, and the longest place name: Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu.
